Spring Begins.

Wednesday March 20th marks the first day of Spring. Although the weather hasn't warmed up in New York like we all hope it would, we begin to prepare our Spring wardrobes in the hopes that we can throw our boots into the back of our closets! I can't wait to hit the streets without my winter coat and hat. As I head home for Spring Break on Thursday I plan to start sharing my top Spring trends and daily looks on the blog! I head away for the weekend Saturday but when I return be ready for some brand new posts!

Thanks for dropping by!

The Art of Getting Dressed.

1. Start from the bottom and work your way up.

I always start with my shoes. Most days during the winter I end up wearing my boots and during the warmer months I wear flats or sandals. Its great to start from the bottom because I always choose shoes depending on what I am going to be doing that day.

2. Legs, Legs, Legs!

Next, figure out what to wear on your legs. You could choose a pair of jeans that look great with the shoes you just chose. Or a pair of tights or leggings depending on whether you go with pants or a skirt/dress.

3. Don't be boring!

Now, don't be boring. Wear a fun top or a printed dress. If you are wearing jeans and boots wear something cheerful on top to stand out among your basic bottoms. If you are wearing colorful shoes or tights try something a little more tamed. But, of all things I try to not be boring. I love wearing basics and comfortable looks. But, everyone can be creative in their own fashion.

4. Accessorizing is a must.

Next, decide if it is appropriate to wear a necklace, bracelet, rings, etc. If its cold choose a fun scarf. If it's warm try a simple bracelet or a statement ring. You can go two directions either wear simple accessories and let your look stand out for itself. Or, accessorize like crazy to help a boring look more chic.

5. Double check.

Last, double check what you are wearing. Do all the components go together. Do you wanna make a last minute change and go for a bright shoe, or add a watch or bracelet. This is where you can edit your look to make it truly yours.

March!

I would like to start my first post of March out by saying that I want to stay more focused on current trends and happenings in the fashion industry from now on in my daily posts! Although school is crazy I hope to post as often as possible and do my best to keep my readers updated!

The above look is focused around this chunky floral scarf. I love the pink tassels along the
bottom and the bright floral print is perfect for a transition from Winter to Spring.
The great thing about this cardigan I wore is that it can be worn as a dress. But, it is also loose enough to wear layers underneath so if it is a mild day there is no need for a jacket.
I wore a pair of raspberry leggings and boots to finish the look!

As you can see from the first photo this day I decided to wear a hot pink lipstick.
I am obsessed with this lipstick because of its bright fuchsia hue a trend that has been
seen popping back up in the industry. But, I also went along with the black and
white trend this season by wearing a striped button down top from American Apparel.
I love the loose comfortable fit and I was able to throw on a belt for some shape.

Today I decided on my favorite fringe sleeved sweater. This time I wore it over a white lace
tunic and used a bright purple scarf as my pop of color.
This look goes to show how comfortable a look can really be without being boring.

Stay Tuned: I plan to share with my readers the mindset
behind how I choose my everyday looks!
