Cropped jacket.

During the summer months I like to mix up my wardrobe by wearing a cropped jacket instead of a cardigan. Today I wore a bright coral dress with a bright blue belt. To top it off I wore my navy cropped jacket which matches the shades of coral and blue so perfectly. Although  it became to hot to wear the jacket it was perfect for work to cover my arms in the cool air conditioning. The colors in the jacket will also transition perfectly into my fall wardrobe.

Try a trend: collars.

Collars are a big hit currently. Many fashion forward ladies are sporting blouses with collars and tops that feature different style collars. Today I wore a polka dot sleeveless top with a peter pan collar. Peter pan collars are my favorite style and I was really happy when I found this top. Polka dots are my fave and the blouse came in my favorite color the perfect shade of dark pink. Break out those collared tops and pair then with everything and anything. Wear a collared top with a skirt, jeans, shorts, or even a button down top worn open over a dress. Today I sported my top with a pair of bloomer shorts.

Make a mini work appropriate.

Like many college aged girls I own several miniskirts. Although I do not feel comfortable wearing them to work there are several ways you can build a look around the skirt to make it feel more appropriate for a casual work environment. Today I wore my yellow mini with an oversize floral tunic. This tunic is long enough to cover the tight part of the skirt but still leaves a peak of color. All you need to do is throw on a cardigan and the look is perfect for work in a casual environment. Another option when wearing a mini is to throw on an oversize cardigan or one of a longer length. This will cover the clingy skirt around your waist and butt but still show the skirt a perfect amount. Now I am not saying that if you are required to wear business casual to work that this look is for you. Please stick to pencil skirts and trousers in that case, but if you work in a creative field or a casual environment express yourself and go for it!

Not just for fall: long sleeve dresses.

Typically dresses with sleeves are seen in the cooler months. But, a long sleeve or 3/4 sleeve dress can work in the summer months too. If you are like me you may work in an office with air conditioning. Instead of throwing on a cardigan consider wearing a dress with sleeves which eliminates the need for an extra item of clothing! The dress I wore today is from H&M and features a vintage-y floral print. I received several compliments on this dress. Floral can do wonders ladies! And even a dress with a conservative high neckline can be fun and flirty too!
